Ken Hughes

Ken Hughes is Europe’s leading Consumer & Shopper behaviouralist.   With interest as broad as neuromarketing and behavioural economics, with particular focus on their application to shopper motivation theory, Ken has spent over a decade as CEO of Glacier Consulting, which he founded in order to pioneer developments in shopper behaviour insight, particularly in biometric shopper research.

His clients mainly include large international blue-chips such as Heineken, Kraft Foods/Mondelez, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Walmart, IKEA, Nivea, 3M, Nielsen, AXA, Unilever, Mars Masterfoods and European organizations such as GS1, ECR and many other national FMCG associations.

Hamish Taylor

From flat beds on BA flights to the turnaround of Eurostar and Sainsbury's Bank, Hamish Taylor drives innovation in businesses, successfully leading them through times of change or challenge by putting the customer at the heart of any brand or offering. As a keynote speaker, he provides business insight at all levels—from Prime Ministers and CEOs to front-line staff—inspiring audiences with his humorous stories, practical tools and infectious enthusiasm to look outside their current environment.

Hamish was trained in Brand management at Procter and Gamble, a Management Consultant at Price Waterhouse, Head of Brands at British Airways, CEO of Eurostar, and CEO of Sainsburys Bank – all before he was 40! In each case, he left behind a record of significant growth/turnaround triggered by a willingness to challenge industry/organisation norms and place the customer at the core of all activities.

He has also been dubbed the “master thief” by the Inspired Leaders Network due to his record of “stealing” ideas from one environment to use in another (including Yacht designers for aircraft interiors, Disney to help with airport queuing, and rugby referees for new approaches to risk/compliance).

Joe Nellis

Professor Joe Nellis is Professor of Global Economy specialising in global macroeconomics, business environmental analysis, strategic thinking and management development.

He is also Deputy Director of the School and Director of the Policy, Sustainability &
Performance Academic Community. He is the longest serving member of the School of Management's Executive Board. From 1st January 2014 until 31st January 2015 he
served as Interim Director of Cranfield School of Management.

He also holds Visiting Professorial appointments at various universities in Germany, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary, USA, and Ghana. Joe has published 19
research and subject-based books and over 200 academic and practitioner journal articles.

His research encompasses analysis of business developments in a changing world in terms of the macroeconomy, the role of government, the impact of technology, societal and demographic trends.

Peter Greer

Chief Operating Officer, National Storage 

After 15 years with one of Australia’s largest banks Peter started his self storage journey with the purchase of 2 small self storage sites in the North East of Australia.  He soon completed a joint venture with another operator to grow their combined portfolio to 16 sites. 

20 years on and Peter has worked side by side with his business partner Andrew Catsoulis to grow National Storage into the largest self storage business in Australia and NZ.  They are the only publicly listed self storage business in the region, floating in December 2013 when they had 60 stores.  Since the listing the business has grown to 110 stores, the shares have increased in value by 50% (peaking at a 90% increase) and are paying an average dividend yield of over 6%.

Peter remains a key factor to the success of the business with his focus on operations, human resource management, strategic business planning and day-to-day operational management. He is a former board member of the Self Storage Association of Australasia (SSAA), including a term as the President and is a regular speaker at the national SSAA conference.

Daniele Esposito

Senior Strategic Channel Partnerships Manager at Google

Daniele is a former Management Consultant with a strong international background in identifying and developing new business opportunities in fast paced environments.  He is fluent in 5 languages and has worked in the online advertising market in 5 different countries.  Currently he is based in Germany and is in charge of managing strategic channel partnerships with Google. Daniele specialises in running functional projects aimed at driving business growth and customer acquisition.  He has been working with self storage businesses in Germany this year to help the optimise their online marketing using a range of Google products to grow their business.

Emma Chesterton-Kay

Acquisitions and Development Manager at Storage King Europe Limited

Emma started in the self storage industry in 2003 as a Store Manager for Access Self Storage based in Islington, London. After three and half years she moved up to the Head Office in a newly created role as Acquisitions Assistant, helping acquire freehold development sites across the south of England and in particular London. She acquired four freehold sites in 2007 for Access before moving to Safestore as their Acquisitions Manager in April 2008.

In two and half years at Safestore she identified a number of leasehold and freehold sites across the south of England two of which were acquired, one in Birmingham and one expansion site in Wandsworth, London.

In January 2011 she moved to Storage King as Acquisitions and Development Manager working as part of the newly formed management team. Between May 2011 and December 2016 she has acquired eight freehold existing self storage operators located all across England and has more in the pipeline. The acquisition of the eight freehold stores has rebalanced the portfolio from a majority leasehold to a majority freehold providing a strong platform for acquisitions moving forwards.

She is currently actively seeking and acquiring additional freehold self storage operators as well as properties suitable for conversion.

Guy Pinsent

President and CEO, Less Mess Storage Inc.

Less Mess Storage Inc. owns, operates and develops the largest self-storage portfolio in the CEE region, with stores currently in Warsaw and Prague.  Guy has been the CEO of the business since 2014 and has driven its considerable growth in this developing market.  He was a Partner of Personal Storage, a private British self-storage business before turning his attention to developing self storage in the CEE region.  Guy is an entrepreneur with a background in investment banking (Citibank), British Foreign Service (nuclear weapons counter-proliferation) and commercial real estate investment and development.  Educated at Eton College and Cambridge University (Economics MA).  Mr. Pinsent is a resident of Warsaw and speaks Polish.

Terry Bagley

Vice President of Business Development, Janus International

Mr. Bagley has been involved in the self storage industry for 15 years in various capacities. In his current role, Mr. Bagley is responsible for executive level customer relationships, vendor partnerships and interaction. He is also responsible for the Janus International SecurGuard™ product line which provides individual unit access control and security.  Previously, Mr. Bagley was the President & CEO of Centershift, Inc., an innovative and leading rental management and point-of-sale software solution to the self storage industry. He also set the strategy and led the successful acquisition of the North American division of Hi-Tech Smart Systems RentPlus management software and customer base in 2011.

Mr. Bagley regularly speaks at US industry trade shows/conferences and he is a frequent editorial contributor to industry trade publications and magazines, including the SSA Globe, Inside Self-Storage, and Mini-Storage Messenger.  Before entering the self storage industry, Mr. Bagley spent almost 20 years in the technology industry in various leadership positions in business development, sales and marketing and management for both private and publicly traded companies that included 3Com (acquired by Hewlett-Packard), US Robotics and Megahertz.

Mr. Bagley is a graduate of Brigham Young University and San Jose State University. He has also attended post graduate training courses in various business-related subjects, including executive education courses from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife and family.
